DONATE TO MAXWELL FARMS

More exciting improvements are planned for Maxwell Farms Regional Park.

Help us realize this vision!

Sonoma County Regional Parks has updated the master plan for Maxwell Farms Regional Park, a community park in the Springs area of Sonoma Valley, adjacent to the City of Sonoma. When complete, the enhanced Maxwell Farms Park will include two baseball diamonds, soccer fields, an off-leash dog park, tennis and pickleball courts, sand volleyball courts, a children’s play area, enhanced skatepark, bicycle pump track, photovoltaic array and nature trails.

Phase 1 and Phase 2 Updates:

We celebrated the Phase 1 with an opening celebration in July 2024.  Phase 1 includes a new all-weather baseball field, a new all-weather soccer field, two new restroom and concession buildings, expanded parking including EV charging stations, expanded accessible parking and paths of travel, utility improvements, picnic areas and other site amenities. The project also improved safety, access, and circulation with a newly aligned and expanded entry drive.

We are now raising funds for Phase 2, which includes a re-envisioned skatepark, a set of four pickleball courts and a bicycle pump track, a popular new looped circuit of banked corners and smooth rollers where riders are powered by their own momentum without pedaling.

Skateparks and pump tracks are valuable park features, particularly for teens and young adults who are looking for a healthy outlet in local parks. These activities provide a positive, creative form of exercise and fill a void for teens who are not attracted to team sports. Skateboarding and cycling teach empowerment and determination and create a sense of community and responsibility.

Pickleball is the fastest-growing sport in the United States, and appeals to players of all ages.
Major funding to implement the Maxwell Farms master plan will come from public sources (including the Measure M sales tax), state and federal grants. But completing this exciting project for the residents of Sonoma Valley also depends on individual donations to the Parks Foundation, and through Team Maxwell, a coalition of local community athletic groups.
